|:: ARTISTE ANGOLAIS::
Paulo Jorge Marques João is an Angolan singer. During the early '90s, Paul G. enjoyed a brief run as a member of one of the first worldly known African Rap groups SSP. Born Paulo Jorge Marques João in Angola, South West Africa, he grew up skate boarding professionally, dancing, and listening to smooth crooners like Marvin Gaye and Hip-Hop pioneers like LL Cool J and Run DMC.
At age 18, after losing interest in professional skate boarding and becoming more interested in the American B-Boy culture, Paul G. added the rap skill to his vocal repertoire and co-founded the first Angolan commercial rap group South Side Posse today known as SSP. As part of SSP, Paul G. gained his first experiences dancing and rapping to thousands of people world-wide.
Due to artistic differences, after eight years as part of the rap group, Paul G. decided to depart from SSP and seek his desire to sing and produce R&B music not just for Angola but also for the rest of the world.
As if it wasn’t challenging enough to go from rapping to singing professionally, Paul G decided to single handedly, launch Magic Fingaz Production an independent music production company that would introduce Bruna Tatiana to the world, as the first female R&B singer of Angola. Bruna’s success with the song “Donde Esta La Fiesta” didn’t just conquer the Portuguese and Spanish speaking music markets in Africa, Europe and South America. It also gave Paul G the vision and desire to conquer the world with his music. In 2005, after producing a Live Show for Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott in Luanda the capital city of Angola, Paul G would decide to embark on a journey to enter the music industry in the United States of America.
Currently a resident of Silver Spring in the state of Maryland (USA), Paul G has joined the XPOSURE Entertainment family to work on what would be his long awaited debut album that is scheduled for release in early 2007.
In 2010, he released the first every African music video collabo with Senegalese superstar Akon called Bang it all. The video was shot by MOAMA Best African music video director, DJ Marcell from Mozambique. It was shot in Angola and South Africa.
